Lyme and Tick Borne Diseases: What Doctors Don't Know and How You Can Help Your Clients Get the Right Diagnosis

Speaker: Marjorie Veiga, author of My Lyme Guide and founder of www.MyLymeGuide.com -

Lyme and other tick borne diseases are prevalent throughout the United States but are frequently misdiagnosed. Patients can suffer irreparable harm because their doctors did not consider Lyme as a possible diagnosis; its symptoms frequently masquerade as other diseases. In this session, you will learn critical information such as the incidence and prevalence of Lyme disease in the U.S.; its symptoms; why Lyme and tick borne diseases are so difficult to diagnose; what tests are effective and which are not; what therapies are available in addition to antibiotics and more. Marjorie MacArthur Veiga is a Lyme patient in remission, a wife, and the mother of two daughters, one a teenager recovering from chronic Lyme. Marjorie started and led support groups for Lyme families in Loudoun and Fairfax Counties (Virginia) in 2004. She has served on the board of the National Capital Lyme and Tick Borne Disease Association as a support group leader, fund raiser, and media relations volunteer.
